Case Studies - Lancaster University Ruskin Library, Lancaster University (2009) Project Background
The building's design won many architectural awards. The property is used as a museum and research centre
for students and members of the public.
AGS were employed by the main contractor to apply a clear wax based micro-permeable protective coating in order to protect against weathering, staining and environmental pollution as the finish is a shade of pure white. Ten years later Graffiti-Busters were re-employed to clean the protected external facade and re-apply graffi-coat1 again so that the blocks could be protected against the elements for a further period of ten years plus. The original coating together with the existing dirt and grime was removed by making use of specialist hot pressure washing equipment. After the cleaning works were completed Graffiti Busters proceed with the application of the coating with the use of airless spray equipment. The works were successfully completed in May 2009. Our permeable anti graffiti coatings can protect surfaces not only against future graffiti attacks but also against weather/environmental pollution.
